Do Meaningful Work With People Who Care
At Phytest, we solve complex challenges across healthcare, diagnostics, and operations in an environment where expertise is respected, collaboration matters, and your work makes a visible impact.
What Drives Us
Laboratory services shape diagnosis, treatment, and patient confidence—often more than any other part of the care journey. When labs are reliable, timely, and thoughtfully integrated into care, clinicians can act with clarity. When they aren’t, patient care weakens.
Our work is about building lab services that elevate care, not complicate it. We bring rigor, coordination, and scale to diagnostics so results are trusted, workflows are seamless, and care teams can focus on patients—not workarounds.
For our team, the impact is real. The systems we build influence how quickly care moves, how confidently decisions are made, and how patients experience the healthcare system. Every role at Phytest plays a part in improving care by supporting the decisions that matter most to patients and clinicians.
Where Trust and Care Lead
At Phytest, our culture is shaped by how we show up for one another every day.
We are a close-knit team by design. That allows us to move thoughtfully, build real relationships, and give people meaningful ownership over their work. We trust our colleagues to use good judgment, communicate openly, and take pride in what they do.
Flexibility and autonomy are part of that trust. We understand that great work doesn’t happen on a rigid schedule or in one fixed way. People here have the space to structure their work in a way that fits their lives—while staying accountable to their teammates and the mission we share.
What ties it all together is a shared sense of care: for the quality of our work, for the people we serve, and for one another. It’s a culture where expectations are clear, support is real, and people are treated like the thoughtful professionals they are.

Our benefits are designed to support people as whole humans, not just employees.

- Build, maintain, and continuously improve the laboratory quality management system.
- Ensure testing meets analytical performance standards and results are accurate and timely.
- Lead QA/QC programs across pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases.

- Prepare for and support inspections, audits, and ongoing compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Instrumentation, SOPs & validation
- Oversee instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation, and compliance records.
- Review, write, and update SOPs and laboratory forms in alignment with policy and regulatory standards.

Senior IT Lead | Atlanta | Hybrid
Atlanta, GA | Full-time | Hybrid
At Phytest, getting the right data to the right place safely—every time—is how our labs run smoothly and our revenue lands on time. We’re looking for a Senior IT Lead in Atlanta, Georgia who is meticulous about details and energized by building a better future for healthcare and lab services.
You’ll join a small, high-trust IT team, enjoy flexible telecommuting, and we pay direct employee healthcare premiums—so you can focus on building systems that work.
This role exists because we’re growing—new clients, new labs, more integrations—and we need a builder who can keep us a step ahead. You’ll be supported by an existing IT team of sharp operators who know the stack and have your back.
You’ll own integrations and environments end-to-end, shorten client go-lives, improve how we use tools and systems, and make issues easier to detect and fix. As the company scales, there’s real room to broaden scope. If you balance precision with progress—and like seeing your work improve clinical operations and financial results—you’ll thrive here.
What sets Phytest apart
- Small and sharp team with high ownership and direct access to the people who run labs and revenue cycle.
- A leadership group that values clear priorities, short feedback loops, and systems that get better every quarter.
- A high-growing company in healthcare that is a leader in what it does and cares deeply about its mission to make healthcare better for doctors and patients.
- Flexible telecommuting with a hybrid-friendly culture. Come in for three days and telecommute the rest.
- Competitive salary and employee healthcare premiums paid by the company along with other benefits like dental, vision, and life insurance.
What you’ll own
- Healthcare integrations & data flow:
- Build and maintain integrations across EMRs, PM systems, labs, clearinghouses, and payer platforms (HL7, SFTP/FTPS, APIs, flat files).
- Troubleshoot mapping issues, file failures, and workflow breakdowns across clinical and financial data flows.
- Execute technical builds for new clients, including rules, mapping logic, pricing tables, eligibility data, and go-live preparation.
- Environments, servers, and application platforms:
- Assist in administration and optimization of MS SQL Server databases, including queries, indexing, performance tuning, backups, and troubleshooting.
- Integrate applications hosted in IIS, Nginx, and Node/Express environments. Support internal network, SFTP endpoints, and system availability in partnership with infrastructure vendors.
- Maintain integrations with Active Directory, including users, groups, roles, permissions, and secure access policies.
- Operational ownership, vendors, and delivery:
- Own day-to-day operations and incident response as the primary technical escalation—coordinate fixes with internal teams and vendors, drive root-cause and corrective actions, and hold SLAs so systems stay interoperable.
- Lead client delivery from discovery through go-live—environment setup, configuration, mapping/rules, cutover, and hypercare—while maintaining workflow logic, rule engines, and automation (Atlas and related tools) so processes remain accurate and repeatable.
- Represent Phytest as the external technical point of contact with EMRs, clearinghouses, statement vendors, payment processors, and lab partners; evaluate new solutions, pilot them, and own integrations when adopted.
- Compliance & security:
- Ensure system configurations and data exchanges meet HIPAA, PHI handling, and healthcare security requirements.
- Support audits, access reviews, system hardening, and enforcement of secure policies across infrastructure and applications.
The stack you’ll touch
- Data/OS: Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Server

You may be a great fit if you’ve
- 5-10 years of hands-on healthcare IT experience.
- Strong proficiency with HL7, integration engines, SFTP, data mapping, and healthcare data standards.
- Experience with EMRs, PM systems, billing systems, clearinghouses, and lab data workflows.
- Demonstrated success handling high-volume operational workloads and complex troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA, PHI handling, and healthcare data security best practices.
Extra credit for
- Experience supporting diagnostic labs, genetic testing workflows, or complex RCM environments.
- Familiarity with rule engines, workflow modeling, and automation technologies.
- Prior experience as a technical lead or senior-level subject matter expert.
- Experience maintaining and extending AI-enabled workflows and identifying new AI tools that can enhance operational efficiency in healthcare IT environments.
Interested? Send your resume, LinkedIn URL, and a short note describing an integration or project you owned end-to-end—what you improved and the measurable impact (faster go-live, higher first-pass acceptance, fewer incidents). We look forward to meeting you.
